Everything you need to get started and make the most of it. If something isn’t here, write to us.
Getting started: add your email
It works with any email: Gmail and Google Workspace, Outlook and Microsoft 365, iCloud, Yahoo or your own domain.
- Pick your provider on the welcome screen (or in Settings → Accounts → Add account).
- If you see Sign in with Google or Microsoft, use it: it’s the easiest and needs no special password.
- Otherwise, the app walks you through creating an app password (three steps, about two minutes) and pasting it.
Why an “app password”?
Google, Apple, Microsoft and Yahoo don’t let other apps use your normal password when you have two-step verification. An app password can only read and send email, and you can revoke it anytime from your provider account without changing your password.
You can add several accounts: they all show together, each with its own color.
Your email, by person
Each person is one conversation, like a chat: what they write to you and what you write to them, in order. Groups (several people in the same thread) have their own conversation.
- Primary and the other categories (shopping, updates, promotions…) keep people apart from newsletters and automatic notices.
- Newsletters show Unsubscribe at the top; Subscriptions lists them all, with how many they send and how many you read.
- Right-click a conversation to archive it, label it, mute it, snooze it or be reminded about it.
- Very long conversations show the latest 200 messages; earlier ones appear when you click “Show earlier messages”.
My day and reminders
My day (⌘ 0) brings together today: your agenda, what you need to reply to, reminders and what’s awaiting a reply.
- Type or dictate a reminder the way you’d say it: “call Anna tomorrow at ten, urgent”. The app understands the date, time and list (Gold, Priority or Normal).
- “When I talk to Laura…” reminds you when you open her conversation or she writes to you.
- Overdue items move to today or spread into your free slots in one click.
- The weekly review shows what you did, what’s pending and next week.
Calendar
- Month, week and agenda. Add events by typing: “Meeting with Weider Thursday at 10am”.
- Drag to move or resize; reminders show up too.
- Invite others: they get a standard invitation that works in Gmail, Outlook or Apple Calendar, and their replies show on the event.
- Subscribe to your Google Calendar or to holidays with their iCal address (Settings → Calendar).
Shipments and invoices
The app finds tracking numbers (UPS, DHL, DPD, GLS, postal mail from any country…) and invoices (number, amount, date and due date, also inside PDFs) in your email by itself.
- Mark invoices as paid, create a reminder to pay them or export them to a spreadsheet for your accountant.
- If an amount or date is wrong, fix it by hand from the invoice itself.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Go to… (people, commands, reminders, events) | ⌘ K |
| New message | ⌘ N |
| Send | ⌘ ⏎ |
| My day | ⌘ 0 |
| Find in conversation | ⌘ F |
| Undo delete, archive or send | ⌘ Z |
| All shortcuts | ? |
On Windows, Ctrl instead of ⌘. Coming from Gmail? Turn on its one-key shortcuts in Settings → Shortcuts.
Privacy
- Installed app (Mac and Windows): everything stays on your computer. The app talks directly to your email provider; your passwords are stored encrypted with the system keychain.
- Web version: your data is kept in a space that’s only yours, separate from other customers, with your email passwords encrypted. You can download it or delete everything anytime from Your account, and turn on two-step verification.
- AI features are only used if you add your own Gemini key and press those buttons.
If something goes wrong
“Didn’t accept the password”
It must be the app password, not your usual one. Create a new one following the app’s steps and paste it again.
“The server doesn’t exist” or “isn’t responding”
Check the server and port in “Server settings” when adding the account. For a work account, ask whoever manages your email whether IMAP is allowed.
I can’t find an old email
The app keeps the most recent ones at hand; when you search, it keeps searching your whole mailbox. In Settings → General you can choose how much email to keep at hand.
Dictation doesn’t type what I say
Transcription depends on the browser (it works in Chrome, Edge and Safari). The installed app saves the audio; on Mac you can also dictate with system dictation (press Fn twice).
